Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how BD&J, PC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information obtained through this website, including through online forms, phone calls, text messages, emails, and other communications.

Information We Collect

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including your name, phone number, email address, and information submitted through forms or communications.

We may also automatically collect certain information when you visit this website, including IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring URLs, approximate location, and interaction data related to website performance or advertising.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate this website and support advertising, analytics, and performance measurement.

These technologies may collect information about your device and interactions with this website and our advertisements. You can turn off advertising and analytics cookies at any time through Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of every page (see Your California Privacy Rights below). You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect website functionality.

Advertising, Analytics, and Communications

We may use third-party tools and services for advertising, analytics, marketing, call tracking, and communications.

We may communicate with you by phone, text message, or email in connection with your inquiry or potential legal matter.

Text messages, when used, are generally conversational and informational in nature.

Calls to our phone numbers may be monitored, recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using automated tools, including artificial intelligence, by us, by our call-tracking provider, CallRail, and by the technology providers CallRail uses, where permitted by law. By calling our phone numbers or continuing a call, you consent to this.

How We Use Information

We may use information to respond to inquiries, evaluate potential matters, communicate with you, operate and improve this website, conduct advertising and marketing activities, and comply with legal or ethical obligations.

Disclosure of Information

Information collected through this website may be disclosed to third parties as reasonably necessary to operate our business, support website functionality, provide services, conduct advertising or analytics activities, comply with legal obligations, or protect our rights.

Mobile information, including your mobile phone number and your consent to receive text messages, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share it with service providers that help us deliver our messages, such as messaging platforms and telephone carriers.

Attorney Advertising and No Legal Advice

This website may constitute attorney advertising.

Submitting information through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not submit confidential or time-sensitive information. An attorney-client relationship is formed only through a written agreement signed by both you and BD&J, PC.

External Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites.

Your California Privacy Rights

This section applies to California residents and adds to the rest of this Privacy Policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Some terms below come from California law, such as the names of the categories of personal information, which the law requires, and the words “sell” and “share,” which the law defines. We explain them in plain words.

In short:

  • We use the information you give us to respond to you, to evaluate your potential legal matter, and to handle any matter we take on.
  • Our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt, use cookies on this website to show you our ads on other websites. California law calls this “sharing” and may also call it a “sale.” You can stop it at any time with Your Privacy Choices, at the bottom of every page.
  • We report inquiries to Google Ads to measure how well our ads work. Contact details in these reports are in hashed form. Opting out on this website does not stop reports about calls to our phone numbers, as explained below.
  • Calls to our phone numbers may be recorded, transcribed, and analyzed with automated tools, including artificial intelligence, through our call-tracking provider.
  • You can ask us what personal information we have about you, and ask us to delete or correct it.

Notice at Collection

We collect the categories of personal information below through this website and through our communications with you, and we have collected them in the preceding 12 months. For each category, we list where the information comes from (sources), why we collect it (purposes), and whether we sell or share it.

In the same period, we disclosed personal information for business purposes as described below, and we shared identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity information, and geolocation data (approximate) with our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt. They collect this information through advertising cookies and similar technologies on this website for cross-context behavioral advertising, which means showing you our ads on other websites based on your visits here. California law treats this as “sharing” and may also treat it as a “sale.” The third parties we allow to collect personal information through this website, for advertising, are Google and StackAdapt. To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, use Your Privacy Choices, which is also at the bottom of every page.

Identifiers. Information that identifies you or your device: your name, phone number, email address, and home address when you contact us; your IP address; cookie and device identifiers, including a device fingerprint used to detect fraudulent clicks on our ads; and advertising click identifiers.

  • Sources: you; someone who contacts us for you, such as a family member; your browser or device; and, for phone calls, caller ID information from the telephone network.
  • Purposes: to respond to your inquiry and evaluate your potential legal matter, to communicate with you, to measure and improve our website and advertising, to show you our ads on other websites, and to prevent fraud and protect our website.
  • Sold or shared: online identifiers, such as cookie identifiers and your IP address, are shared with our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt, which collect them through advertising cookies and similar technologies on this website for cross-context behavioral advertising, unless you opt out. California law may also treat this as a sale. Your name, phone number, and email address are not sold or shared; they may be reported to Google Ads as described under “How we measure our advertising” below.

Personal information described in California Civil Code section 1798.80(e). Personal details listed in that law: your name, address, and telephone number, and any medical, insurance, or employment information you choose to share with our team.

  • Sources: you; someone who contacts us for you, such as a family member; and, for phone calls, caller ID information from the telephone network.
  • Purposes: to respond to your inquiry and evaluate your potential legal matter, to communicate with you, and to provide legal services.
  • Sold or shared: no. Your name and phone number may be reported to Google Ads as described under “How we measure our advertising” below.

Characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law. Your age or date of birth, when you share it with our team.

  • Sources: you; and someone who contacts us for you, such as a family member.
  • Purposes: to respond to your inquiry and evaluate your potential legal matter, and to provide legal services.
  • Sold or shared: no.

Internet or other electronic network activity information. How you use this website and our ads: the pages you visit, how long you stay and how you interact with them (for example, scrolling, clicking links, and using forms), the website that referred you, your interactions with our ads, and your browser and device type.

  • Sources: your browser or device.
  • Purposes: to measure and improve our website and advertising, to show you our ads on other websites, and to prevent fraud.
  • Sold or shared: shared with our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt, which collect this information through advertising cookies and similar technologies on this website for cross-context behavioral advertising, unless you opt out. California law may also treat this as a sale.

Geolocation data (approximate only). Your general area, such as your city, based on your IP address. We do not collect your precise location.

  • Sources: your browser or device.
  • Purposes: to measure and improve our website and advertising, to show you our ads on other websites, and to prevent fraud.
  • Sold or shared: shared with our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt, which collect it with the information above, in the same way, unless you opt out. California law may also treat this as a sale.

Commercial information. Records about the services you asked us about: whether you became our client, and the outcome of our review of your inquiry.

  • Sources: our intake records.
  • Purposes: to handle your inquiry and legal matter, and to measure and improve our advertising, as described under “How we measure our advertising” below.
  • Sold or shared: no. It may be reported to Google Ads as described under “How we measure our advertising” below.

Audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information. Recordings of what is said on phone calls, and written transcripts and summaries of them, where calls are recorded as permitted by law.

  • Sources: calls with us from you or from someone who contacts us for you.
  • Purposes: to keep a record of your inquiry, to maintain the quality of our service, and to transcribe, summarize, and review calls, including with automated tools such as artificial intelligence that our call-tracking provider (CallRail) provides to us.
  • Sold or shared: no.

Sensitive personal information: personal information collected and analyzed concerning your health. Information about an injury or your health that you, or someone who contacts us for you, choose to share with us when you call, text, or email our team, or in our online request form. Our free consultation form does not ask for it. A call that includes this information may be recorded, transcribed, and analyzed with automated tools, as described above.

  • Sources: you, or someone who contacts us for you.
  • Purposes: only to evaluate your potential legal matter and to provide legal services, and for the other limited purposes California’s privacy regulations allow, such as security, fraud prevention, and services our providers perform for us. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you.
  • Sold or shared: no.

How long we keep personal information. We keep each category only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. For most categories we cannot give one fixed period, because how long we need the information depends on what happens with your inquiry, so we use these criteria:

  • Identifiers that come with an inquiry (such as your name, phone number, email address, and home address), personal information described in Civil Code section 1798.80(e), characteristics of protected classifications, commercial information, and sensitive personal information: as long as we need them to respond to and evaluate your inquiry, to handle any legal matter that follows, and to meet our legal, ethical, and record-keeping obligations.
  • Audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information: our call-tracking provider deletes call recordings and transcripts automatically after 25 months. Any copy we keep in the file of a legal matter follows the criteria above.
  • Other identifiers (such as cookie and device identifiers, IP addresses, and ad click identifiers), internet or other electronic network activity information, and geolocation data: as long as we need them to measure and improve our website and advertising and to prevent fraud. When this information comes with an inquiry, for example the IP address, the ad click identifier, and the address of the page in a website inquiry, we keep that copy with the record of the inquiry, as described in the first item above. Advertising and analytics cookies expire on their own schedules, up to two years after your last visit; copies that some of these tools keep in your browser’s local storage remain until you clear your browser data or opt out. One of our advertising partners also keeps an identifier in your browser’s cache for up to 90 days; this website does not load that partner’s tools while your opt-out is in effect. Our call-tracking provider’s cookies last up to six months after your last visit; opting out on this website removes these cookies and the copies our call-tracking provider keeps in your browser’s local storage.

How we measure our advertising

Google Ads receives reports about inquiries made through this website and to the phone numbers it shows. Google uses them to try to match those inquiries to our ads, so that we can measure and improve the performance of our advertising, including the automated bidding Google Ads uses for our ads. Contact details in these reports are in hashed form: they are converted into a code, which Google compares with codes it creates from its own records, including Google accounts that were signed in when they engaged with our ads. These reports can include:

  • From our website: when you submit our free consultation form, a report of the submission with the address of the page, the ad click identifier from your visit if there was one, and your email address and phone number, in hashed form.
  • From our call-tracking provider (CallRail): when you submit our free consultation form or call us, a report of the form submission or call, with the ad click identifier from your visit and, where available, your name, phone number, or email address, in hashed form.
  • From our intake systems: later, the outcome of our review of your inquiry, whether or not we take your matter (for example, whether you became our client), with the ad click identifier from your visit if there was one, and your phone number and, for a form, your email address, in hashed form. These reports are sent through a workflow automation service (Zapier).

When you have opted out in this browser, the pages of this website you load afterward do not load Google’s advertising tag or CallRail’s website script, so our website does not send these reports and CallRail does not connect your calls or forms to your visit or to an ad click. Reports about calls to our phone numbers, and about a form you sent before you opted out, come from our call-tracking and intake systems, not from this website, so an opt-out on this website does not stop them.

Sale, sharing, and other disclosures of personal information

We do not sell personal information for money. We do share personal information with our advertising partners, Google and StackAdapt: when you use this website, they collect online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers and your IP address), browsing activity, and your approximate location through cookies and similar technologies, so that we can show you our ads on other websites and measure them. California law treats this as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising and may also treat it as a “sale.” You can opt out at any time, as described below. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

We also disclose personal information to service providers that help us operate, for the purposes above: website hosting; website development and maintenance (including error reporting); email hosting; email delivery (Mailgun); our intake case-management system (Lead Docket); workflow automation that sends results from our intake systems to Google Ads (Zapier); text-messaging and telecommunications providers; our phone service, call recording and transcription, and call and form tracking (CallRail); and protection against fraudulent ad clicks (ClickCease). If ClickCease identifies a click on our ad as fraudulent, it may add the IP address to the list of addresses that our Google Ads account excludes from seeing our ads, and may add the visitor to an audience that our ads exclude.

Google provides our advertising measurement (Google Ads), as described under “How we measure our advertising” above, and our website analytics (Google Analytics), which receives identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity information, and approximate geolocation from this website while Analytics is allowed in Your Privacy Choices. Our Google Analytics account is linked to our Google Ads account, so information Google Analytics collects, such as IP addresses, may also reach Google Ads and be used there, including when you allow Analytics but not Advertising. If you choose to play a video on this website, Google also provides the video player (YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode), which receives your IP address and information about your browser, and may store information in your browser. You can learn how Google uses information from websites that use its services on Google’s page about its partners’ sites, and you can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

In the preceding 12 months, we disclosed these categories of personal information for business purposes: identifiers; personal information described in Civil Code section 1798.80(e); characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law; internet or other electronic network activity information; geolocation data (approximate); commercial information; audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information (call recordings and transcripts); and sensitive personal information (personal information collected and analyzed concerning your health). We disclosed them to the categories of service providers listed above. As described under “How we measure our advertising,” we also disclosed identifiers, personal information described in Civil Code section 1798.80(e) (your name and telephone number, in hashed form), internet or other electronic network activity information (the page address), and commercial information to Google Ads, and, through our fraud-protection provider, the IP addresses of clicks it flagged as fraudulent.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you: the categories (kinds) of personal information, the categories of sources we got it from, our business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing it, the categories of third parties we disclose it to, the categories of personal information sold or shared, if any, and the categories of third parties to whom they were sold or shared, and the categories of personal information we disclosed for a business purpose and the categories of persons we disclosed them to. You can also ask for a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you (and, starting January 1, 2027, about you), subject to exceptions allowed by law.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. We use and disclose sensitive personal information only for purposes that California law permits without offering this right, so no further action is needed.
  • Not be retaliated against for exercising any of these rights, including if you are a job applicant, employee, independent contractor, student, or applicant to an educational program.

These rights are subject to exceptions under California law. For example, we may keep information we need to handle your legal matter, to protect against fraud and security incidents, to meet our legal, ethical, and record-keeping obligations, or to exercise or defend legal claims, and some of these rights, including the rights to know, to opt out, and to limit, do not apply where complying would violate an evidentiary privilege, such as the attorney-client privilege. We do not have to provide the information in response to more than two requests to know from the same person in 12 months. We do not have to re-identify or link information that, in the ordinary course of business, we do not keep in a form that can be linked to you. We do not have to correct information that we determine is more likely than not accurate. If requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive (for example, because they are repeated), we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse them.

How to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information

Click Your Privacy Choices, here or at the bottom of any page of this website. Then either choose Reject all, or set Advertising to Not allowed and choose Save my choices. Your choice applies to the browser and device you are using and is saved there for one year after your last visit. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, set it again there.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and when a signal is honored we also turn off analytics, unless you turn Analytics back on in Your Privacy Choices. A GPC signal applies to the browser or device that sends it. To send the GPC signal, use a browser or browser extension that supports it and turn the setting on. When an opt-out made in this browser, or a GPC signal, is in effect, the bottom of each page shows “Opt-Out Request Honored.” If your browser sends GPC and you then choose to allow advertising on our website, we honor that choice for our website only.

These choices apply to this website. You, or an authorized agent with your signed permission, can also ask us to opt you out by using the online request form below, or by calling or emailing us as described below.

You can also opt out of Google’s use of cookies for personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings, and learn about opting out of many other advertising companies’ use of cookies on the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page. These choices are separate from Your Privacy Choices on this website.

Our website does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal, as described above.

How to make a request to know, delete, or correct

Call our privacy line toll-free at (866) 627-3274, or email us at privacy@bdj.com.

Online request form

You can also make a request online. Use this form to make a request to know, delete, or correct, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or to ask a privacy question. Please do not include medical details or other sensitive information unless you are asking us to correct it.

To protect your information, we verify each request to know, delete, or correct by matching information you give us, such as your name and the phone number or email address you used to contact us, with the information we have. For a correction, we use information other than what you ask us to correct. We use that information only to verify your request. If we cannot verify a request to know, delete, or correct, we may deny it, and if we cannot verify a request for the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, we will deny that part and tell you. For a request for the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, we may also ask you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury.

You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you. For a request to know, delete, or correct, we may ask the agent for your signed permission and ask you to verify your identity with us directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.

We confirm receipt of, and respond to, requests within the time periods California law requires.

You can also call or email us as described above with any questions about this Privacy Policy.

If you have a disability and need this Privacy Policy in another format, contact us using the methods described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective upon posting to this page. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Effective and last updated” date at the top.
